Body
green, 20-40 cm high with prominent ribs. 
Forms large clumps to 1 m across 

Areoles
large, 8-13 mm diameter

Spines
brown, centrals 1-3, sometimes 4

Flower
small, 7-9 mm long; 

Fruit
green with small seed

Habitat
northeast of Nicolasa.

Body
bright green, flattened, globular to 10 cm across, offsetting. Ribs: about 21. Crown creamy white, 3-5 cm diam; 

Spines
whitish grey, at first with dark tips. 
Centrals 0-1, up to 1.75 cm long. 
Radials 7-8 and 1-1.5 cm long; 

Habitat
'Chile'!

Note
Ritter (1980) reduced this to synonymity under C. cinerascens v. inter­media (see Map 5). However Knize found this species near Frai Jorge.

C. aurata see C. goldii Knize n. n.  
 

C. aurespina Knize n.n.

KK654. Was found at Margarita, 1200 m. KK782 found at Rio Choros, 800 m. No description available.

C. atacamensis Middleditch 1980 (Chileans 11:(38) 1980)

Taylor (1981) refers this species to C. calderana.
