In
2003, Rudolf Schulz took a party of Copiapoathoners for a hike from
Los Lomitas down 'the steep side' to Esmeralda. Paul Klaassen drove
the Toyota Hilux packed with 'walkers' from 'Secret Valley' to Las
Lomitas, where he dropped them off at S159 for the start of their
hike.
In
2004, I wanted to look for some of the plants that they had found near
this point but a strong cold wind and approaching clouds (camanchaca)
made sure this (S232) was a brief stop, so I'll have to come back here
in the future.
