During Copiapoathon 2004 some of these clumps (but by no means all)
were in flower revealing a reddish colour that prompted Ritter to
call these plants
Copiapoa rubriflora,
which now raises the questions:
'Will I find any yellow flowered plants here?' and
'Are there really two species here with different flowering times?'
